The former USS Saratoga rounded the Florida Keys on Friday and is expected to arrive in Brownsville on Sept. 12, though a firmer ETA will be available when the aircraft carrier is about 48 hours out.
For the second consecutive year, the Port of Brownsville’s Foreign Trade Zone, dubbed FTZ No. 62, has been ranked the top FTZ in the nation for exports to foreign countries. The ranking was included in the 2013 FTZ Annual Report to Congress. FTZ No. 62 exported a little over $3.2 billion in commodities in 2013, slightly more than the FTZ’s $3.1 billion in commodity exports in 2012, according to the report.
